Pardon my somber face, but I've been battling a cold for the past two weeks now. That didn't deter me from taking these photos in my first impulse purchase of the year from Gilt Men: Kai Aakmann Zipper Coat!

There are too many things I love about this coat; the versatility, the asymmetrical design, the combination of a moto zip jacket and peacoat. Although a detractor at first, I've also come to enjoy how oversized it looks on my smaller frame. This has been my consistent go-to outfit on a cold, chilly day (and we've had plenty of those in Los Angeles recently!) with a pair of Alexander Wang Mesh oxfords. Layering can be such a luxury some times.
