A DAY IN THE LIFE: MOVADO WATCHES AND THE PENINSULA'S #PENBBQ
It's not every day that you get to try on a Movado watch that Elizabeth Taylor wore once and experience a luxurious, rooftop garden barbecue at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills...
It's not every day that you get to try on a
that
Elizabeth Taylor
wore once. And that's exactly what I did at the exclusive, Movado press preview in the gorgeous
L'Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills
, where I got to try on, literally first-hand, never-before-seen watches from the archives and extremely limited-edition watches with a retail price tag starting at $75,000. (Fun facts: Both vintage and modern Movado watches can be seen on shows from
Scandal
to
Mad Men
!) Of course, we naturally gravitated towards the classic, more streamlined and modern styles - but there's certainly a watch for everyone.
Later that evening, we ventured around the block to experience
The Peninsula Beverly Hills' annual, summer #PENBBQ soiree
at their splendid rooftop garden with a mesmerizing, 360 degree view. The
Peninsula hotels
are renowned for their afternoon teas, but their elevated take on barbecue is like no other. Accompanied by some of LA's most esteemed editors and influencers alike, we feasted on Executive Chef David Codney's grilled specialties that included Smoked Baby Back Ribs, Char Siu Duck Tacos, Madagascar Shrimp Chimichurri while toasting to glasses of rose and Champagne.
The perfectly-grilled steak with a barrel-aged sauce blew our minds away.
Even the side dishes like the Aged Cheddar & Jalapeño Corn Bread were equally delectable. We couldn't have asked for a better way to end the night - it's hard to beat dessert bites with edible gold.
