Meet Spencer Nicosey of KILLSPENCER

Beautiful array of backpacks and messenger bags, from camo prints to a buttery leather finish

The marriage between decor and merchandising is well thought out, as evidenced by the juxtaposition of KILLSPENCER handmade, leather goods with vintage binoculars and cameras

Everything at the KILLSPENCER Silverlake storefront is hand-made, including this display table made out of reclaimed wood

Timeless small, leather goods are part of KILLSPENCER's signature collection -- personal embossing is a nice added touch

Burgundy suede that'll age as well as a fine bottle of Bordeaux

At KILLSPENCER, details are everything

The in-house production studio is impeccably homey, consisting of workstations, an airy kitchen and a modern cleansing area

This is where all the technical artistry happens

And the man himself: Spencer Nikosey, principal designer and founder of KILLSPENCER

is one of those gems that makes me particularly proud of being an Angeleno. What started as a mere student project at

Art Center College of Design

, where Spencer spent his formative years honing his craft, is now a full-fledging storefront on Sunset Blvd in the multi-faceted neighborhood of Silver Lake. After operating and refining their craft at an offsite workshop in Downtown Los Angeles' Arts District, KILLSPENCER conceptualizes, designs and produces everything you see -- from their signature weekenders to utility backpacks -- in-house. It is truly LA made and an entrenched part of the palpable creative hub in art and design that is burgeoning and bursting at its seams within the larger, DTLA and Arts District region.
