INTRODUCING: SCRAPES AND GRAVEL

The founding manifesto of

Scrapes and Gravel

is to represent those who don’t have a voice, the neglected, the underbelly of society. The diamonds in the rough waiting for their moment to shine. The celebration of individuals who seek to push boundaries and go beyond their comfort zones.

The first outfit of the year usually sets the tone. And the rivers run deep with this one.

For as long as I lived my life, I had always identified with the underdog. Throughout my teenage years, I was heavily ostracized by my sexuality, pushed around by bullies and often felt that there was no end to my struggles. The founding manifesto of

Scrapes and Gravel

is to represent those who don’t have a voice, the neglected, the underbelly of society. The diamonds in the rough waiting for their moment to shine. The celebration of individuals who seek to push boundaries and go beyond their comfort zones.

The story of the brand further unfolds in its choice of distressed details and thoughtfully-dyed, French Terry fabrics. While rugged and down to earth in appearance, the clothes are unexpectedly soft to the touch and comfortable day in, day out.

S&G’s current collection, Vagabond, is a Rick Owens-esque take on high street meets everyday comfort style

.

It’s essentially a play on paradoxes: the gentlemen with a toughened exterior, the upstanding professional with a wild side. Wherever you go, these clothes leave a mark - this is the urban warrior’s uniform whose hustle is self-made (not so far off from founders

Dorell and Mia Wright’s

own legacy).
