LA ---> SD

Between work, more work and a multitude of events, I've been in desperate need of a quick getaway. A getaway that would entail no traffic (Angelenos and other urbanites alike should recognize this instantly as their #1 stressor), no plans, no schedules, and no one but ourselves. Fortunately, when the opportunity came up this past weekend, both my beaufriend and I seized the moment to spend some quality downtime in the lovely locale of San Diego.

For those who aren't familiar, San Diego is a major city located two hours (or three, depending on traffic situations) south of Los Angeles county. It's home to the Padres (the first and last sports reference you'll get from me), some of the best breweries and a rapidly developing Downtown area brimming with museums, bars, restaurants amongst other recreational activities.

We stayed in the Gaslamp District, where our hotel had a gorgeous rooftop lounge with panoramic views and in prime proximity to amazing restaurants such as Craft and Commerce (that elderflower cocktail was to die for; so were the bacon-wrapped dates (not pictured))!

I totally regret not taking advantage of the rooftop setting for a personal style shoot -- then again that wasn't the focus of our trip at all. We did, however, snuck away into the parking lot of this coffee haus in Little Italy to snap a few, quirky shots...and yes, you're seeing my new 3.1 Phillip Lim denim jacket in action. More on that in a later post!

The point is -- don't get too caught up in all the hustle and bustle. Work and life balance is crucial. I am learning that first hand right now. Sometimes you have to drop everything and just breathe.

NOTE: Don't forget about my Hydrogen-1 shoes giveaway -- only a few more days before I announce the winner!
