Excuse the momentary hiatus, but I've been away at New York Fashion Week (NYFW)! I figured I should start tackling the daunting task of providing you with some relevant fashion week happenings before the blog gets too (uncomfortably) quiet.
. . .

Prior to the beginning of NYFW, IFB kicked things off with its two-day conference featuring some industry bigwigs and prominent fashion peeps (Eva Chen of Teen Vogue and Kelly Framel of The Glamourai).

I covered the incredibly chic event as a correspondent for my dear friend, Talia Bella, founder of Closets for Causes, a cause-marketing agency that seeks to marry style and philanthropy. Her company has raided many celebrity closets, including Sophia Bush and Jenna Ushkowitz, in the name of shopping and doing good! Love itttt.

Because I was on a time crunch, I had to be selective about the panels that I sat in on. There was no other choice for me, besides the Pinterest panel, upon finding out that Enid Hwang was going to be speaking! Enid and I first "met" on Pinterest; from there, we bonded over Asian street fashion as well as my most recent purchase, 3.1 Phillip Lim mesh boots.

With Enid on helm, the Pinterest panel was very informative and insightful. She dished out tips on best practices, how one can and should grow their Pinterest boards as well as tackling some tough technological questions regarding their API. Some quick takeaways are:

  • Create homogenous and visually-compelling boards. If it is a board about streetstyle, make sure it is that and only that.
  • Follow pinners you're intrigued by and comment away! Reciprocation is key to growing and maintaining a following.
  • Ensure that your pin redirects to a blog or website presence. Ending up in Google search is no bueno.

Oh, and I got to meet Enid Hwang in the flesh! Don't we look like style twinsies?

And there you have it! More NYFW coverage and personal style photos (featuring your's truly) on the way <3
