My LANVIN F/W 2012 Menswear Obsession

Of all the French design houses, I am most enamored by Lanvin, particularly their menswear. I love how the designs and silhouettes are simultaneously reserved but playful; exaggerated but understated; and classic but edgy. I mean, look at the contrast between the high-top sneakers and the luxurious wool fabrics + leather skins that are present in every garment!

Like in its previous season, Lanvin's Fall/Winter 2012 menswear collection is all about the reinvention of the shoulders and proportions. And I cannot be more excited. I've always loved how women gallop around in their pin-point, sharp shoulder blazers, popularized by high-end fashion designers like Balmain and Maison Martin Margiela. We're definitely seeing a movement (or intersection perhaps?) of androgynous trends in menswear. Perhaps the greatest feat of all is how Lanvin still maintains its signature, masculine aesthetic with menswear. Every piece that came down that runway show is a dream (not to mention, the quality man-candy that comes with it!).
