Despite being mid-October, the sunny and toasty weather of LA has yet to relent. The afternoon blazes and early evening breezes means I get to spend more time frolicking about with my denim shirt. This particular Diesel denim shirt has quite an interesting backstory.

I was on a shopping excursion, with two of my former colleague friends, at the Beverly Center, and this shirt beckoned my attention as it dangled on one of the racks in the Diesel store.

From the women's section.

A shopping tip I always dispense for smaller frame guys like me is to peruse the women's section of your favorite store, especially if the men's sizes tend to run bigger. This is rather common at stores like Club Monaco, Uniqlo and Banana Republic. Trust me, it never hurts to wander into the women's section and see what you might find!

I've never been the biggest fan of having denim as outerwear or even as a separate, but Diesel managed to produce something so magnificently soft with a subtle dye. It makes an effortless style statement, whether you're pairing it with a tank top underneath for a casual look or wearing it as a standalone button-down with rolled up chinos.

What are your experiences with denim? Do you find it to be a versatile piece or is it some times too trite and fashion-backwards? Let me know your thoughts on that!
